RED-LINE SMILEY :)

ribbonI'm really impressed
Posted by Mike Kaiser on Tuesday, 12 May 1998, at 9:44 p.m.

Last night, coming home in the Boxster from band practice. It's around 10 pm, the moon is full, and I'm cruising around 60 mph on a winding country road (they're ALL country roads here) in Maine.

You know how the diamond shaped yellow signs saying 35 mph on curves are just advisories? I'm having fun, staying at 60 through the curves. No problem--on rails.

So, I'm coming around this curve, haven't seen another car for 20 minutes at least. And suddenly there's this deer standing in the road, maybe 100 feet in front of me.

I press the brake pedal--AND THE CAR JUST STOPS. You Boxster owners know what I mean. It just stops. No noise, no strain--not even an adrenaline rush. Like it's the most natural thing in the world. Next thing I know I'm stopped in the middle of the road, looking at a deer--just the sound of the engine idling, waiting for the my next request.

The deer just looked at me as if to say "How did you do that?"

What a car! 60 to zero in 2 seconds.

WOW- Me too Last night, coming home. It's around 10 pm, the moon is full, and I'm cruising around, it's late so I'm hoofing it along a winding country road (they're ALL country roads here) in Maine.

You know how the diamond shaped yellow signs saying Deer Xing ahead are just advisories? I'm having fun, staying at a good clip dodging trees.

So, I'm coming over this stone wall, and I haven't seen another car for 20 minutes at least. And suddenly there's this BOXSTER coming right at ME in the road, maybe 100 feet in front of me.

I FREEZE Like I always do In the middle of the road.--AND THE CAR JUST STOPS. You Boxster owners know what I mean. It just stops. No noise, no strain--not even an adrenaline rush. Like it's the most natural thing in the world. So the next thing I know, I'm thinking Hey, I'm Not Dead! "How did you do that?"

So I stare this Boxster Down --just the sound of his engine idling. At this point I dash off into the woods. Wait till the other Deer hear my story. Heh, Heh I must have scared him. Bambi

BTW Nice car, but get some deer whistles. ;)
