TECHNICAL EXCELLENCE
Removal of trim: L&R vents: Left side: Remove headlight switch by sticking small screwdriver in slot of bottom of knob, push-in to release & remove. Loosen nut/remove nut locating switch. Rotate switch to line-up guides and pull out (be careful of wires attached! Use Torx driver (#?) to remove locking screw found here, and at the same time, remove two other Torx screws at door side (near mirror). Remove surround, being careful to detach wires on headlight switch. Note routing of wire for illumination of switch for later reassembly. To further disassemble vent "vanes, carefully unsnap duct shroud at back of vent (some force needed). Remove vanes and vane guides (vanes are numbered 1L, 2L, etc, for later reassembly). Right side: Remove snap-on temp sensor grille, ans proceed with Torx screws as above. Follow as above for complete removal. Central a/c vents: Carefully pry out L&R switch plates with small knife and unsnap. A/C controller surround also unsnaps. Switches are removed by carefully twisting them laterally. Cigar socket requires removal of illumination and wiring from behind switch (after cover removal), and a combination of rotating and pushing forward to remove (again, some force needed, but be careful!). Cassette/CD surrounds pull out after first removing cubby bin (below) by grabbing and pulling out. Lower trim (above shift) is unsnapped by pushing from behind (as is the surround for the cassette/CD storage). Interior Mirror trim plates are pulled out from BOTTOM, and pushed up to unhook (be careful). Push out mirror switch on driver's side and detach wiring. Door handle trim: using fingers, unsnap from bottom and lift off and unhook at top (easy). Ring clip on doorhandle: Simply pry off/unsnap (plastic). Door storage bin /arm rest cover: REquires removal of door panel. You'll need schematic from manual (I can send hard copy for you to scan and upload). Trim around top of dash (near defrost vents): Requires unsnapping alarm moniter, removing and then unsnapping trim upwards (not attempted, but described in manual). Console removal described elsewhere. Hope this helps! Good Luck! Barry |
