TECHNICAL EXCELLENCE
And followup Posted by Rob Langley on Thursday, 5 March 1998, at 12:29 p.m. It is very easy to make it yourself. It takes about 5 minutes and costs less than a dollar. Now maybe if I made it out of carbon fiber and put a Porsche Crest on it.... Yeah that's the ticket. $49.95 or in stainless for $59.95 no problem :-) All kidding aside. You can probably find the 1/4 inch flexible insulation at a hardware or building supply company. The felt and velcro at a Walmart. Just measure the indent area where the holddown is and cut to fit. Glue the felt to one side of the insulation, leaving about 1/4 inch overlap and stick the velcro to the other side. Attach the opposite type velcro to the hold down screw on the engine compartment and you are done. Photos in about 2 weeks of my plugs. |
